Homeopathy Vs. Mainstream Medicine

Essential Zen focuses on Homeopathy, which is a medical system based on the belief that the body can cure itself.

Are you interested in holistic healthcare? If so, then you may have heard of homeopathy. Homeopathy is a form of alternative medicine that is said to be effective in treating a variety of illnesses. However, mainstream medicine practitioners claim that there is no scientific evidence to support the effectiveness of homeopathy.

Homeopathy

1. Has been around for over 200 years.

2. Developed by German physician Samuel Hahnemann.

3. Based on the ‘like cures like’ principle — substances that cause certain symptoms can also heal those symptoms (for example, poison ivy can be used to treat an itchy rashes and stinging nettle is used to relieve arthritis).

Based on three principles:

1. Similia similibus curentur – “let likes be cured with likes” or “let likes cure their likes”.  For example, a homeopath may prescribe a preparation of caffeine to help someone who feels drowsy upon waking up.

2. Single remedy – A single remedy should be prescribed for each medical condition.  Coffee, for example, should not be prescribed to help both sleeplessness and anxiety.

3. The minimum dose – the remedy should be given in the smallest effective dose.  Homeopaths will also recommend that their patients take preventative doses of certain remedies on a regular basis (BIG).

Mainstream Medicine

1. Is a body of knowledge developed over several centuries by observation and experimentation.

2. It includes all aspects of health including the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.  However, it excludes any practice or methodology that relies on explanations related to supernatural forces or beings

3. Mainstream medicine uses medications with known effectiveness as well as surgery if needed; it also focuses on preventative medicine such as vaccines and wellness checkups

4. There are many different types of mainstream medicine with several branches, including but not limited to: family practice & internal medicine, surgery & anesthesia, emergency medicine & trauma care, cardiology & heart surgery, geriatrics & hospice care, neurology & neurosurgery, oncology/cancer treatment

To summarize, homeopathic remedies are made from natural substances and contain no active ingredients. However, they do not work for everything or everyone- so it’s important to consult with a doctor before using them as well. On the other hand, mainstream medicine is based on scientific evidence that proves its effectiveness in treating certain conditions like diabetes mellitus type 1 (DM1) by regulating blood sugar levels. More About the Authors

Essential Zen focuses on Homeopathy, which is a medical system based on the belief that the body can cure itself. Those who practice it use tiny amounts of natural substances, like plants and minerals to stimulate the healing process. It was developed in the late 1700s in Germany and is becoming more popular in the United States.  Our mission is to increase that popularity and help it continue to grow.
